As with coffee or tea, there are different types of yerba mate. Discover in this article the difference between the 3 types of yerba mate present on the market!
1. CURED MATÉ
Matured mate , also called “traditional”, is the most consumed mate in Argentina and more widely in Latin America for its intense taste and more pronounced bitterness .
How is it refined?
The matured mate is stored in specially conditioned rooms, where the temperature and humidity are controlled to obtain the correct maturation and its strong taste. Refining lasts between 9 months and 1 year, sometimes up to 2 years, during which yerba mate develops its aroma and flavor.
This is the ideal type of yerba mate for those looking for the strong taste of traditional yerba mate.
2. GREEN MATÉ
Unlike matured mate, green mate is neither aged nor stored for long periods. It is harvested and can be consumed straight away.
What a difference ?
Very different from traditional mate, it is distinguished by its delicate aroma, its low bitterness and its much milder taste. In Europe and particularly in France, it is yerba mate that has won over all mate drinkers.
It appeals to both new consumers and regulars of mate! This is why we decided to cultivate a wide range of green mate, for all tastes: fruit flavored or plain .
Very little bitter and surprising with its natural aroma , green mate remains by far the best choice of mate for all those who wish to discover this naturally energizing drink and its benefits.
